Is Norman Van Aken back?

Well not quite, but almost. As I was reading through my RSS feeds today, I came across great news. Norman Van Aken is offering a Gourmet Getaway. For a name that is not heard very often nowadays, but is definitely not forgotten, I was excited to hear about this opportunity.

On July 12th, the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes is offering a unique culinary getaway. They are offering “The Gourmet Getaway” that includes the chance to meet and mingle with Chef Norman, and enjoy a wine tasting, dinner, cooking class and more. This getaway includes deluxe accommodations at The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes on Saturday night, the 12th of July, a wine tasting with Van Aken, a four-course wine dinner by Chef Clay Miller, a breakfast buffet at The Vineyard Grill on Sunday morning and a cooking class by Chef Clay Miller. The price for two people is $489 plus tax.

If you’ve been missing Norman’s and would like a mini-vacation, this might be the perfect opportunity.

  1. I love Chef Norman! I LOVED his Coral Gables restaurant and have had a few opportunities to dine at his location at the Ritz-Carlton. This will be an excellent weekend for sure. For those of you who have not visited the Ritz-Carlton, it will take your breath away. Wait till you see the restaurant’s stunning dining room.
