Being called a “Cheesehead” was one of the perks of growing up in Wisconsin. It signified your Midwestern upbringing, that you were an avid Packers fan and that you were one step above putting a “cheese butt” on. Oh, those were the days. People knew where you had come from. Today, when I read about “The Cheese Lady” it just made me laugh. What are those crazy Wisconsin-ites up to nowadays?
Sarah Kaufmann, also known as “The Cheese Lady” is planning a memorable 4th of July. She will be busy for the next 3 days sculpting a 5,000 pound mammoth Wisconsin cheddar cheese at Sam’s Club in Madison, Wisconsin. This sculpture will be modeled after a “Spirit of ‘76″ style parade featuring well-known Wisconsin characters including a dairy cow, a cheesehead, a bottle of milk and more.
After, the sculpture has been created, passersby can see and taste this mammoth size hunk of cheese. It’s actually 54″ tall. This is the first sculpture that Sarah has created as she’s carved tv celebrities such as Jay Leno, Matt Lauer, Katie Couric and none other than Brett Favre.
