Does anyone else have a hard time keeping track of chefs? Michael Bloise, Joe Montiero, Jesse Souza - Need I go on? One day they are at a restaurant, and the next they disappear? It’s my job to do this, yet it’s a very difficult job that I have. Well, I finally tracked one of them down and here’s the update.
Joe Monteiro, formerly of A Fish Called Avalon, was hired recently as the Executive Chef of Bruschetta & Co. Bruschetta, with locations in Doral and Miramar, features Italian cuisine that goes beyond the typical pizza and fettucine alfredo. They work on bringing such dishes as Osso bucco, gnocchi, carpaccio and risotto to the mainstream. Although I remember Joe for his seafood and his fabulous Pecorino Florida Lobster Tail, Truffle au Gratin and Key Lime Beurre Blanc Sauce, I am enthusiastic to find out what he will bring to the table at this Italian-style restaurant.
