Back in December, I visited The Counter, a local burger shop in Royal Palm Beach where you could build any burger you could dream up. As I described in my post, I thought this restaurant had done things right and that they were here to stay. So today, as I was having lunch at Naylah, a Mediterranean restaurant in Royal Palm Beach, just around the corner from where The Counter used to be, I learned that The Counter was no more. I will no longer by able to go and have my burger with herb goat cheese spread, dill pickle chips and apricot spread. What a sad day it was!
Good news though! MarxFoods is sponsoring a Build The Best Burger Contest. They are looking for the best burger, be it made with seafood, veggies, black beans, chicken, lamb or grass-fed beef or sandwiched between a bun, a mini-bun, ciabatta or tortilla. Recipes for side dishes are also welcome. The winning entry will be judged on deliciousness and originality.
In order to enter, you will need to submit your recipe to MarxFoods.com by Friday, July 18th with a recipe name or title attached to it. Stories about or photos of the recipe are also welcome and should be emailed to contest@marxfoods.com. Visit MarxFoods for contest rules.
The winner will receive 10 pounds of their choice of burger meat (or a $100 MarxFoods.com gift certificate) and palm leaf dinnerware. The winner will be announced on Wednesday, July 23.
