The Riverside Hotel Announces a New Executive Chef

How many people do you know that have tempted the palates of King Hussein, Hillary Clinton and Steven Spielberg? Not many that I know. Well, you are closer than you think to knowing someone who has had the opportunity, and that someone is the new Executive Chef at the Riverside Hotel in Fort Lauderdale.

Chef Alex M. Gulal has just been appointed the Riverside Hotel’s new Corporate Executive Chef. Chef Gulal is definitely not a stranger to the Las Olas dining scene, as he has been consulting with the Riverside Hotel for the past four years.

Gulal has over 30 years in the restaurant industry. As a child, he found his love in the kitchen as he worked in his grandfather’s restaurant in Turkey. He expanded his palate and started incorporating a Western European influence into his cooking while working in the Strasbourg region of France. You can describe his cuisine now as a mixture between the bold flavors of North American foods with the subtleties of the Mediterranean. He brings his love of organic food and combines it with his personal passion for cooking with a light, delicate approach. Stay tuned, as Chef Alex will be spicing up the Power Lunch program at Indigo.

The Grill Room on Las Olas is open for dinner Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm and on Fridays and Saturday from 6:00 - 11:00 pm.
